Overview
The global pandemic of COVID-19 disrupted countless lives and plans, including my own. What was initially intended as my final project took an unexpected turn as the crisis unfolded. In response to this unprecedented situation, I decided to pivot my project to commemorate this significant historical moment and record my experiences during this period.
Concept & Symbolism
The project, "Memories of Quarantine," is a collection of three postcards that encapsulate my daily life, emotions, and feelings during the quarantine of 2020. Each postcard features a unifying symbol: the window. This window not only serves as a visual connector across the three postcards but also embodies the essence of quarantine life. It represents the separation and isolation experienced during this time, while also serving as a metaphorical lens through which I observed and interacted with the world.
Artistic Approach
Each postcard in the collection reflects a different facet of quarantine life, offering a glimpse into the personal and collective journey of navigating through uncertainty and change. By memorializing these moments, the project seeks to create a lasting testament to the resilience and adaptability we all had to embrace during this challenging time.
