Overview
"Her Style" is an educational website that empowers teenagers with knowledge about the historical evolution of women's fashion and its profound connection to gender equality. This project delves into how societal norms have historically dictated women's clothing choices, with men often imposing their aesthetic standards and influencing everything from the color to the fit of women's garments across different cultures.
Fashion design is intrinsically linked to people's lives, with designers crafting garments that not only meet human needs but also reflect nuanced perceptions of gender identity. Through their work, designers distinctly highlight and often challenge societal norms surrounding gender, embedding their attitudes toward gender identities into their creations.

As detailed in The Berg Companion to Fashion, high heels, originally designed for men in the seventeenth century, served to create an illusion of height (Shawcross, 2010). Initially, men wore high heels to appear taller, making the heels a symbol of high rank and authority. Shawcross further notes that from the nineteenth century, women began adopting high heels, marking a pivotal shift in social dynamics. This transition not only signified an improvement in women's social standing but also became a means through which women could assert greater rights and power. Thus, within the realm of fashion design, high heels have played a crucial role in elevating women's status.
