Overview
This poster is designed to reach a wide audience, including those who have suffered from breast cancer, their families, supporters, and even those who are unfamiliar with the disease but are eager to learn more. The tone of the poster is intentionally serious, as reflected in the dark background, to underscore the gravity of breast cancer.
Concept and Design
To communicate the dual messages of breast cancer awareness and the "Race for the Cure" event, I merged the imagery of a woman's breast with the shape of a running shoe. This visual metaphor is intended to symbolize the connection between the cause (breast cancer) and the event (the race).
Visual Elements: The shoe laces are colored pink, symbolizing breast cancer awareness, and are designed to link the breast to the running shoe to reinforce the connection.
Audience Reaction: Observations indicate that viewers who first notice the breast may not immediately recognize the shoe, and vice versa. This dual interpretation engages the audience and encourages a deeper examination of the poster, thereby strengthening the impact of its message.
